◎简 介
在亚马逊河流域的热带雨林中有一个神秘的部落--舒尔族，据传说，舒尔族对食人蟒蛇顶礼膜拜，视为神明。此蛇生性凶残，力量惊人，靠生物发出的热量追踪捕食。遇到它全无逃生的机会。人类学家史蒂文·凯（埃瑞克·斯图尔茨饰）对传说中的舒尔族十分感兴趣，因为发现这个部落不仅可以做科学研究，而且极具新闻价值。史蒂文和纪录片导演泰莉·劳瑞（杰妮佛·洛佩斯饰）组织了一支摄制组，准备拍摄一部关于这个神秘部落的纪录片。摄制组一行七人从巴西亚马逊河源头出发，带着全套摄影器材，乘船进入了这片神秘的热带雨林。
沿途，他们偶然发现了一条搁浅的小船，随即救起了船主保罗·沙万（琼·沃纳饰）。保罗告诉众人，他在热带雨林中生活多年，以捕蛇为主，并声称亲眼见过舒尔族人。大家半信半疑，但看得出保罗对此地十分熟悉，摄制组还是听从了他的向导。自从保罗上船之后，怪事不断发生……史蒂文博士中了黄蜂毒，昏迷不醒，要立即送往医院抢救。救人心切，大家不得不听从保罗的建议，改航道找医院。但万万没有想到，这一切都是保罗策划的。他的目的就是利用摄制组捕捉那条蟒蛇。他将摄制组的船引向蛇穴，以摄制组的成员作为诱饵。为了生存，手无寸铁的摄制组与保罗展开了搏斗。此外，那条来无影去无踪的食人蟒蛇也在虎视耽耽的盯着他们……
幕后制作：
本片大牌云集：包括Jennifer Lopez与说唱天皇Ice Cube等人。本片的真正主角巨蟒的特技效果与奥斯卡影帝Jon Voight饰演的狡诈盗猎者Paul Sarone。但由于故事情节老套，惊栗手法单一，纵有强大Cast也无太大发挥空间，被不少评论挖苦为一部喜剧。
