〖剧情〗
南非盛产钻石，因此走私活动十分猖獗。一大批为经切割的钻石失踪再加上频频发生的一系列谋杀案，引起了英国当局的高度重视。英方遂派出007情报员詹姆斯·邦德（肖恩·康纳利饰）前去调查。
邦德以钻石商人的身份前往阿姆斯特丹展开了一系列的调查，他循线来到一所大型赌场，发现这个幕后主使人竟是他过去的死对头邪恶的魔鬼党首领艾纳斯·布罗夫（查尔斯·格雷饰），而这些钻石的失踪更不仅仅是单纯的走私案，而是艾纳斯·布罗夫正用这些各种宝石制造最具杀伤力的激光卫星设备，用以毁灭海、陆、空的大型目标。邦德在美丽的女郎蒂芬妮·坎丝（基尔·圣·约翰饰）的帮助下准备制止这个狂人的罪恶行动。
为了达到目的，邦德首先要与众多对手搏斗-古怪的文特先生和凯德先生，邦德险些死在他们的手下。然后，邦德找到了隐居的亿万富翁维拉德，只有他知道艾纳斯·布罗夫的下落。
最终，邦德在坎丝的帮助下，配合政府军一道与维拉德一伙展开殊死搏斗，歼灭了歹徒，完成了这项任务。
