[color=]    约翰是美国法警，在证人安全保护中心工作。负责将在重大案件中作证的人以另一个身份保护起来，在他处理好尊尼一事后，同事罗伯特告诉他去保护一个新证人——艾伦。艾伦在美国最大的武器制造公司西历公司任职。联邦调查局怀疑该公司从事非法黑市军火买卖，他们利用艾伦盗取了公司的最高机密。约翰赶到艾伦家，正好遇上杀手使用新式武器要杀人灭口。约翰把她救出并安置好，并将真相告诉她。约翰在酒吧见到了罗伯特。罗伯特告诉他证人保护计划有了泄露，要重新进行安置活动，并且要一起行动。一向单独行动的规则使约翰产生了怀疑，但他还是同意。罗伯特制造骗局亲手杀死了自己的证人，然后告诉约翰对方还要找艾伦。但约翰却已起了疑心。他报了假地址。在飞机上，罗伯特发现约翰已秘密通知证人逃离，大为愤怒，约翰被迫跳机，凭借机智和勇气，终于幸免于难。艾伦识破了罗伯特派来的人，逃进了动物园。约翰不久也赶到。混战中，约翰带着艾伦逃走，而罗伯特却对上司贝克说约翰受贿拒捕。约翰找到了尊尼，在他的帮助下混入了西历公司，在电脑系统中终于查出了西历公司在黑市出售新式武器的真相，并得知军火交易的地点。约翰将真相告诉贝克并赶往交易码头制止罗伯特的阴谋得逞。在听证会上，由于此事涉及到国防副部长等头面人物，而物证又被毁，很难对他们判刑。约翰他们设计了圈套，置死地而后生地将罪魁祸首处以死刑。
