【简介】
　　1821年，西班牙对墨西哥三百年的统治行将结束，圣安纳领导的农民起义军席卷了当时还是墨西哥属地的加利福尼亚全省。农民们要向西班牙最后一任总督拉美尔-蒙特罗讨还血债。尽管拉斐尔-蒙特罗已经接到命令返回西班牙，但他仍不肯善罢甘休，妄图进行垂死挣扎。他抓了三个抗议的农民并准备杀死他们。在这危急时刻，传奇英雄佐罗又一次出现粉碎了蒙特罗的阴谋，但随后佐罗被投入了监狱，女儿也被蒙特罗一伙抢走……二十年后，蒙特罗带领军队重返墨西哥，试图建立独立的加利福尼亚共和国。
　　此时年事己高的佐罗又一次挺身而出，他将对贵族怀有深仇大恨的青年农民阿利亚多训练成了新一代佐罗，并和阿利亚多并肩战斗，最终杀死了蒙特罗并解救了大批矿工，女儿埃琳娜也回到了自己身边……

　　本片导演马丁-坎贝尔曾执导过广受赞誉的007电影《黄金眼》以及最近在我国上映的大片《垂直极限》；扮演主角的是来自西班牙的安东尼奥-班德拉斯和来自英国的凯瑟琳-泽塔-琼斯以及安东尼-霍普金斯。
　　自1919年小说出版以来，佐罗的传奇故事被搬上大小银幕不知凡几，在监制史帝芬史匹柏的协助下，找来了当年以007电影「黄金眼」成名的马汀坎贝尔执导，全片剧情流畅，怀旧浪漫又不失现代风格，尤其片中男女主角比剑与跳探戈热舞的场面更是令人难忘，堪称98年最佳萤幕情侣也不为过！
